Long ago this was an accepted practice for a good breeder. You want to make sure your pup is coming from a good place. However now a days we have social media. You and many others get to see close up and personal everything you need to know about how my dogs and pups are raised. See my Instagram page started in 2019, link in menu and footer.
Yes, both dogs have the recommended health clearances for the English Golden Retriever breed. Although I don't "show" my dogs in dog competitions I am devoted to improving the breed through my breeding practice. I have a detailed health contract dealing with the pups first year of life and a possible full or partial refund if appropriate. For the contract to be valid owner must feed premium large breed dog food. Exceptions can be made to that rule for a custom diet. I have and will take a dog back at ANY time in the dogs life.
I always have at least one vet who knows the parents and pups for any issues that come up. The pups get a vet check and their first set of vaccinations and a worming before they go to forever homes.
Well, yes and no. I work with each puppy owner to find just the right pup. It has worked beautifully this way for over 15 years. Never had a unhappy client in fact most people are grateful for the help.
All adult dogs are on site except for stud. I do not employ a guardian program were breeding dogs are owned by other parties and then come to the ranch specifically for breeding. Retired females never leave the ranch to make room for new breeding dogs.
The pups are raised indoors for the first 5 weeks of life. I institute early neurological stimulation from 3 to 16 days. I incorporate syn grass into the pups environment so they are partially potty trained when you get them. I also introduce them to crate training around 4 to 5 weeks of age. They get introduced to a car ride or two in the crate helping them to transition to their new forever homes in the best possible way. During their time from 5 to 8 weeks in their "outdoor" environment (which is really a homey dog kennel with yard). They are exposed to all sorts of stimulating things, noises, water and swimming, all using puppy culture techniques. I do the Voltron testing around 6 - 7 weeks to distinguish each pups unique characteristics to help with placing them with just the right forever person or persons. I bath the puppies in love and good vibes every day and they are ready to give it right back to you.
Yes! I have lots of satisfied puppy people to testify the Sundogs are the greatest!
No but I will allow you or a puppy nanny to fly with your pup home.
